The unique cake has around 4 layers of chocolate sponge cake, whipped cream, and cherries. The cake is topped with another layer of whipped cream before being covered by chocolate shavings and cherries. Kirschwasser, also known as cherry schnapps, flavors the whipped cream.
The sponge cake’s bottom layers are also brushed with cherry schnapps to add some flavor and moisture.
